Out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes

In case of a dispute between the Customer and the Seller, a complaint may be submitted to the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts or a proposal for mediation at mediation centres. The procedure before the courts of honour is conducted in accordance with the Rules of the Court of Honour at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Rules of the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, which prescribe that members of the council of these courts, in addition to independent legal experts and representatives of traders, also include representatives of consumers. Mediation before a mediation centre is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Mediation Act and the Rules of Mediation of the Mediation Centre. The Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, with the consent of the minister responsible for consumer protection, will adopt decisions on costs in proceedings before the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Court of Honour of the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.
